Honors Biology





Honors Biology is open to motivated students who wish to undertake a more in-depth study of biology.  This course uses a three-dimensional framework of engaging in real world phenomena to explore principles of biology.  Honors Biology is a course designed to give students an overview of biological concepts. In this two-semester course, students will explore the nature of science through experimental design. This course is a combination of teacher led instruction and student driven investigation, which requires nightly work outside of the classroom. The course will explore cells and cell processes which include basic biological principles, chemical basis for life, bioenergetics, homeostasis, cell growth, genetics, theory of evolution and ecology.
