Honors Chemistry
This course uses a three-dimensional framework of engaging in real world phenomena to deduce principles of chemistry. Instruction is delivered primarily through student centered activities. This course is designed to meet the needs of those students with a strong background in science and mathematics who intend to pursue science as a major at the college level in the fields of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, etc. The theoretical concepts and mathematics of beginning chemistry are dealt with in greater depth than in Academic Chemistry. Students enrolled in this course should be concurrently taking Honors Algebra II or higher.This course followed by AP Chemistry in the junior or senior year is meant to prepare the student for a rigorous freshman college chemistry course.
