Spanish 2

This course is for students who have successfully completed the middle school program or have successfully completed Passport to Spanish. It provides review and continuation of the fundamentals from the district’s elementary and middle school Spanish programs and begins to transition from Novice to Intermediate proficiency. Spanish 2 provides the opportunity for greater proficiency in all skill areas: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Emphasis is placed on learning the language skills in context. These skills are acquired and reinforced through a variety of activities using the Comprehensible Input methodology including the video series “Destinos." In addition, the appreciation and understanding of the Spanish culture is emphasized through a variety of authentic activities. Class participation is fundamental to the successful completion of the course.
